Before there is a palace, there is a cave. Before there is a royal army, there is a collection of desperate men. The indebted. The discontented. The hunted. The violent. The loyal. The broken. And among them, warriors whose deeds will eventually become the legends of David's mighty men.

The Thirty shifts the focus away from the crown and into the brotherhood surrounding David's rise. These are the men who fight beside him before victory is certain.

They cross enemy lines, defend ground others abandon, survive battles whose names later become single sentences, and slowly transform from fugitives and outsiders into the military foundation of a kingdom.

But legendary loyalty carries a price. As David's power grows, the men who once knew him beside campfires must learn how to serve a king. Friendship becomes hierarchy. Orders become harder to question. Rivalries emerge. Families pay for campaigns fought far from home. And the same loyalty capable of building a kingdom can become dangerous when nobody is willing to tell the king no.
