When David flees the court of a king who hunts him, every distressed, indebted and bitter soul in Israel gathers to the cave of Adullam — and among them come the men who will one day be counted among the mighty. In the cave, David does not build an army of warriors alone; he builds a brotherhood. Told through the eyes of Abishai the son of Zeruiah and the men who leave everything behind for the cave, this is the book that opens the story of the Thirty.
