The Story
ENTER THE STORY
By the third day the Harpers are fugitives in their own country. Ben has been taken, broken under interrogation, and given them just enough — enough to hear the order: move on the nurse. Emily is adapting far too fast to a world no teenager should have to survive. Jack still just wants his father and his bed. Over hours 48–72 the death packages are revealed, and the family reads its own obituaries — Jack's already has a school photograph. The files are being edited live, because Greybridge does not murder with guns alone; it murders with paperwork. And through the dark comes the one man Greybridge fears. Gabe, the weapon who left, is not only running from Conrad. He has been moving toward him.
