The Story

The 25-year-old favoured son and systems mind, born to Helena Ward Mercer — the woman Richard loved most. Pattern-recogniser destined to inherit Mercer Global, destroyed by his half-siblings, remade in exile, hardened in prison, and given global authority by a food and logistics crisis. Not good because he cannot be brutal, but because he knows exactly how brutal he can be and chooses where to stop.
